The original, historic chapel at St. Andrews College in Christchurch suffered significant damage in the Christchurch Earthquake in 2011.  A new school chapel, designed by Architectus has now been constructed on the site of the original building.  Skilfully integrating several elements from the original building, the award winning new chapel is perfectly conceived and constructed and will serve the St. Andrews school community for many years to come.

The roof of the chapel is highly visible and much thought was given to the design, specification and installation of the RoofLogic system.  The roof needed to be thermally efficient and highly durable and also needed to achieve an aesthetic appropriate to the design.

SYSTEM BENEFITS
  • Derbigum membrane provides a premium aesthetic.  The natural mineral slate, exceptional slate retention and perfects lap lines that can be achieved with Derbigum Derbicolor FR provides a quality of finish that is simply not possible with any other membrane.
  • Excellent thermal and hygrothermal performance.
  • Cost savings through use of RoofLogic’s structural steel base deck compared to time/cost of plywood substrate and timber framing.
  • Fully engineered system.
