A Scottish Gaelic word that means the earth; Urlar Winery is a family owned vineyard proudly specialising in handcrafted wines which are managed through traditional sustainable practices.

As the winery expanded, a new extension was designed to support its growth. DLA Architects, together with Silvester Clark, developed a roof with a complex arrangement of hips and valleys. This geometry called for a system that could handle the detailing while maintaining reliable performance.

The Ultratherm MSR system is well suited to the task. It provides consistent thermal performance across the entire roof, including at the hips and valleys where insulation continuity can otherwise be difficult to achieve. The result is a roof that meets the functional needs of the building while supporting the architectural design intent.
