With 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Graham has spent a significant portion of that time as a roofing contractor.  RoofLogic was born out of a passion for the roofing industry and a desire to see New Zealand “build better, starting with the right roof.”

Graham says, “it has been an exciting few years as designers and building owners throughout New Zealand have come to see the benefits that a well designed roof can offer.  Better thermal performance and condensation management, new levels of acoustic performance and the right component selection to ensure exceptional durability.”

Graham would love the opportunity to work with you on your next roofing project.

Josh has an intimate knowledge of all Rooflogic systems.  If you need to understand in detail how and why we build our roofs the way we do, Josh is your best point of contact.  Josh is equally at home in an architects office, in Rooflogic’s training facility or working along side one of our contractors on site, tool belt to the ready.  A qualified builder by trade he is well known for turning up to our architectural presentations with built samples of our roof assemblies or complex details.  The feedback we have from architects is that discussions centred around Josh’s famous samples are valuable and informative.

Josh and Dr Dave work in close collaboration when it comes to system design and development and the innovation they are bringing to the market is continuing to change the way we construct roofs in New Zealand.

dr dave
R&D Director
(PhD, CPEng, CMEngNZ, IntPE)

Dr Dave has 30+ years of working experience in the construction industry and is a Chartered engineer, CMEngNZ, IntPE, and APEC Eng. He has a Batchelor Degree in civil engineering and more recently obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy, both from the University of Auckland. Dave’s PhD thesis was entitled ‘Development of Seismic Testing Protocols for Non-Structural Components’, in which he investigated below ground buried infrastructure and above ground building envelopes. He has published several papers in internationally recognised peer reviewed journals, namely ASCE Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice, and the Journal of Earthquake Engineering . He has been a committee or technical member for various standards. He is also a peer reviewer for the ASTM Journal of Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice.
Dave is an inventor and holds three international patents for building products used not only in NZ but around the world as well. He has been responsible for releasing many products to market over the last thirty years in various different sectors in the building industry. He is currently working on new product lines for Rooflogic.
Dave’s work experience includes practising engineering across New Zealand and Australia.in the following engineering fields; structural, civil, façade, expert witness, technical management and hygrothermal design. His experience covers many industries including; precast concrete, building envelope (including façade and roofs), oil & gas, and building surveying.
Dave heads up the R&D sector for Rooflogic and has his own structural testing laboratory situated in Wellington. The laboratory is equipped with wind uplift testing facilities and other structural testing equipment. Dave also manages testing at outside laboratories when testing is required for specific projects or new innovation products that require specialist testing, such as, fire, structural diaphragm, or hygrothermal properties testing, to name a few.
Dave producers the design calculations for the structural aspects of the Rooflogic systems as well as hygrothermal reports. The hygrothermal work checks that condensation will not be a problem with a Rooflogic solution and can give a comparative analysis between different roof or wall systems to give the client comfort that they have chosen the right system. He is a Producer Statement (PS1) author for B1, which he does when a Rooflogic Alternative Solution is required for a specific project. This service is intended to make the process easier for the client to obtain building consent when an innovative Rooflogic system is chosen. Dave can also provide a PS4 when specifically requested by council as part of their consent conditions, again for B1.
